Trimble Business Center 5 Windows 7 Is NoAnother bug to be worked out Like Show 0 Likes 0 Actions David Hall Apr 2, 2020 2:20 PM The release notes say Windows 7 is no longer supported. Windows 7 no longer supported - On January 14, 2020, Microsoft officially ended its support for the Windows 7 desktop operating system, which could leave computers vulnerable to cyber attacks or dangerous software bugs. In accordance, TBC v5.21 and later is not supported on computers running the Windows 7 operating system. We still have a couple of crews running around with Windows 7 machines. Does this mean they wont get prompted to install 5.2.1, that theyll get prompted and the install will fail, or that theyll get prompted, the install will (probably) work but that Trimble will not offer technical support to them Thanks, David Like Show 0 Likes 0 Actions Ralph Denuzzio Apr 7, 2020 10:16 AM Hi David, The TBC 5.21 release notes have a important notice about AMD processors not being supported. I am about to pull the trigger on a high end desktop with an AMD Ryzen Threadripper 64 core processor. The reason for the powerful machine is due to the use of Pix4D with large data sets. How will this processor adversely affect TBC 5.21s performance. Thank you, Ralph Like Show 0 Likes 0 Actions David Kosakowski Ralph Denuzzio on Apr 7, 2020 10:31 AM Ralph, I will contact the development team and get back to you. Thanks. There is a thread on this forum which addresses and fixes it. Trimble does need to address the use of AMD processors in future releases as they are becoming much better than the current Intel Processors.
